Fighting feedback

Looking for a way to reduce feedback as a result of using overdrive pedals. I've been playing with them on a more regular basis lately but the feedback has also become an issue. I have to play at a fairly high volume to compete with too very loud Marshall 800's... no chance of getting them to turn down much . I'm using the "active" circuit on the amp, keeping the gain at a sensible level, and trying to keep the levels on everything (pedal and amp) at reasonable settings (volume aside), but as the volume goes up so does the FB. Not so bad live were I have some seperation between myself and the amp, but at practice (cramped spare bedroom) I'm inches away and it gets noisey at times. Should I get some type of feedback killer/supressor? If so, what is a good example? I see them on ebay but have no experience with them. Any input from you expert TB'ers is appreciated.

Keeping your back to the speakers may help a little, but it's gonna come down to technique unless you're using pedals that have a "choke/starve" (dying battery) sound or a gated fuzz.
They'll be able to control feedback some depending on how you set them also.

ISP Decimator. Works like a charm, kills the feedback, cheap (used), is silent in bypass, and doesn't color tone at all when active.

being as far away and not facing the lickups to the speakers help too

Thanks, I'll be looking for one! Also, pm me about your pedals (I see your on "hiatus" but I'm still interested).

Any tips/tricks on using the isp? Only one knob I see... I like simplicity
