Filters with key inputs and using them w/delays or mods

There are a handful of envelope filters and phasers that have key/trigger inputs. I'm thinking the WMD Fatman, Pigtronix Envelope Phaser, etc. Has anyone tried splitting their bass signal and using an effected signal to trigger the filter?

Ex:
bass >> y-split >>
1 >> filter >> amp
2 >> trem >> filter key input

I'm especially curious about using delay and tremolo pedals. Demos? Videos?

That's a cool idea (tremolo), I've never tried that. I had a Meatwad on my board for a couple of years and I did feed the input from a synth or drum machine a couple of times in the studio with my last band, but no I never thought to use a tremolo or delay, that would be really sweet. Especially if you can get a multi-tempo trem like the Goatkeeper or Z.Vex.

I've done trem into filter trigger, and it was OK, but not much different from a cyclical auto-wah. I've also done trem into a multi-tap delay (signal path, not trigger) and it was very messy and muddy unless I just hit like one note per second.

What I enjoyed more was setting the filter to be triggered by a drum machine. That way no matter what I played, the filter envelope was in sync with the beat. Very cool.
