Ed Friedland has done a bass micro synth and bass blogger review video.
Finally we get a good demo of the blogger, however I still don't really like it all that much. What do you guys think? http://www.ehx.com/blog/ed-friedland...logger-reviews

He also doesn't show the extremes of the filter on the BMS, which he should, because the extremes sound very good. |

I have a love/hate with the BMS. Such a cool pedal, but I can never find much use for it. It just has such as 70's style synth voicing to it. The slap setting he has at the end is pretty cool.
But the Bass Blogger sounds like poop to me. And Ed has managed to make even pedals I didn't like sound good, so that's not a good sign. |

I was thinking about an octaver like the Boss OC3 but this does that and a bunch more (except for the polyphonic mode, which I don't really need).
Is it just me or did his clean tone sound a bit distorted? They should probably mic the amp or use a DI for recording these vids, I think it would better represent the tone of the bass.

It's the least-"Meh" pedal in the universe. Everything you do with it is "Yay!", never "Meh". It just rocks Brick Township on every setting. |

Headhunters is an incredible album but outside of the "yelps" on Watermelon Man I don't think there's vocals on any of it. |

edit: beaten by 3 minute. At least it was the big O.

But I'm sure Beck's intention was to get a similar vibe to Chameleon. I'm a big Beck fan, but that's his MO. He takes familiar but disparate elements and weaves them together.
To steer this thread back to the actual topic, I still think the Bass Blogger sounds like poop. Anybody disagree? |

I also like the passive tone control; I kinda wish the BBM had that (but of course it cant cuz it's a muff)
But I don't see myself getting the Blogger. |

Needless to say, it's absolutely true that not every pedal is right for every board -- as always, it's totally about finding the right combination of sound, features, and price for your own setup -- don't be so quick to dismiss the Bass Blogger! |
