What was the first dedicated bass pedal to reach the market?
The oldest I can think of is the EHX Bassballs, released in 1978.
Top that! The older the better.

Not to be pissing on the first one. ()
But was that dedicated to bass?
Right now it's marketed to guitarists as well.
Is it an enveloppe filter meant for both guitar and bass?
Or intended for bass, but became popular with guitarists as well?
no?

How about the Maestro BB-1 Bass Brassmaster?

ad from 1972

That's a really cool ad. And yeah, I was thinking it was probably going to be the Brassmaster.

You know, after Harry Spitzer became a bum.

I now realize how stupid and silly my ponderings were in my previous post.
If EHX named it Bassballs... most likely they develloped it for bass.

nvm
