In the last couple of months, I have gotten the following pedals:
Boss OC-3
EH Bassballs
EH Bass Blogger
Boss LS-2
After 20 years playing without them, I decided to have fun with them in my band. Last night at rehearsal, we noodled with a couple of ideas using the pedals.
The two following songs were done with the OC-3 in the "A" loop of the LS-2, set in Poly mode. The Blogger into the Bassballs was in the "B" loop. I had the LS-2 set in A-B Mix mode. Keep in mind that these are "rehearsal mixes" and not meant to be final. Typically this was the second or third time we had run the tune, so there are mistakes, but that's how a live performance goes on the second or third time playing a tune. Bass, drums, guitar, keys/synth. Bonefish Original Synth (Really strange patch on the keys on this one.)
This is a version of Robert Walter's "Easy Virtue", using the LS-2 in A-B Mix mode with just the Bassballs in the B loop and nothing in the A loop, so basically blending a clean signal with a little bit of Bassballs signal. The guitarist was having problems with the auto wah tracking on this one, so ignore that glitch. Easy Virtue |

Everyone is direct and the drums are mic'ed all the time. Walk in, plug in, set some levels and go. It's nice, especially when we are trying to hash out new tunes. |

I know that the blogger isn't looked on very highly here, but it serves its purpose, and dirties up the front end of the bassballs quite nicely. I'm loving the A-B Mix feature of the LS-2. Really useful pedal so far. |

Not as much effects on the album. Just some judicious octave here and there. |

You just need to know how to use it and be playing the right kind of music for it. A loop blender doesn't hurt either. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
