Flanger in songs?

I hope this is in the right section.

Hello, long time lurker, first time poster

Before anyone asks, I searched but couldn't come up with anything.

I bought my first effects pedal today, a Boss BF-3, and I've been having great fun with it. It's great to mess around with. But I was wondering if anyone could name a few songs where a flanger pedal is used? I can't really think of any songs where it's noticable, so if anyone knows any examples that'd be great. Thanks.

Flanger

Lots of Van Halen - 'Unchained', 'Ain't Talkin' bout Love', 'Loss of Control'. Barracuda by Heart. 'Stranglehold' by Ted Nugent. Vocals in the middle of 'Life In The Fast Lane' by The Eagles -that's it off the top of my head.

Simon Gallup, famous The Cure bassist, used a flanger to record all "Seventeen Seconds" (1980) and "Faith" (1981) songs: "The Holy Hour" has a perfect BF-2 bass line you might enjoy to practice.

Hope this helps.

Billy Gould from Faith No More used a flanger to good effect on a couple of live tracks on the 'Live at Brixton Academy' album. Underwater Love and War Pigs from memory, but it's been a while since I listened to it. Mental note: must listen to Faith No More - awesome band!!!

The flanger in Van Halen mentioned above is on guitar to the best of my knowledge. Eddie is well known for his use of flanger (to the extent that he has his own pedal made sporting his name!). He does make it sound great! I'm not aware of any VH tracks with flanger on bass, but could be corrected.

The intro to "**** Armageddon this is Hell" by Bad Religion has flanger on it...

one of the songs off of Van Halen II, "You're No Good" I think has an intro with flange on the bass

Hard to think of as many bass examples, but that's some anyway...

Check out "Had to Cry Today" by Joe Bonamassa. Eric Czar uses a vintage Maxon Flanger (what he wrote to me) on the intro of that song.. Sounds amazing!

I wanted to bump this. I've listened to that song a few times, is it really just a beefed up flanger? It sounds almost like theres a bassballs behind it.

I think sometimes John Myung uses a flanger. I thinking Root of All Evil and Honnour Thy Father off the top of my head.
