Follow up to my B:Assmaster troubles...

..troubles no more!

I just got off the phone with Josh "Mr. Malekko" himself, and he basically explained everything most of you were saying.

My gated/envelope "problem" came from my input from my bass being way too low.

And this thing sounds absolutely nothing like (and is meant to sound nothing like) the BBM. That's what I get for basing my aural conclusions from a comparison between the BBM and Germanium Assmaster.

Now that my ignorance has been dispelled, and I understand how this pedal works and why it does what it does, I'm a much happier camper. This little guy has found a permanent spot in my pedalboard.

Best of all, I get to finally take the teeth out of the wrapper and wear them with pride!

Thanks to everyone for your help. Maybe I'll make a "Idiots Guide to the B:Assmaster" and post it on the net, so in the future virgins like me can know what to expect from our first encounter with the mighty Assmaster!!!

The pedal is supposed to spit blood and hurt kids. That's why I have the pink limited edition germanium one!

Too scared to wear the teeth publicly. But maybe Michael Myers will throw them on for me?

Now that you've figured out the pedal, may I suggest instead of posting three topics on the same issue that you contain them all within next thread the next time?

I'm glad you figured it out though.

After one year of use my B:Assmaster let me down a little bit today. When I switched on the pedal it made loud pop and very loud hum/noise appeared. I switched it on/off few times with the same result. I unplugged the pedal, looked inside, connected it again. Noise is gone, but it still produces loud pop when engaged. It was dead quiet before.

Could you please check how footswitches behave in your B:Assmasters please? Thanks!
