Fooger for Fooger: would you trade?

Sign in to disble this ad
About 2 years ago a local music store that was part of a chain, went in to liquidation and was selling off what was knocking around for basically what ever you offered, i naturally took advantage of this and bought a Mooger Fooger Bass MuRf for £180, when they were selling them for about £350.

After it sitting in my pedal board for some time and not really getting used, i decided it was getting a bit pointless caring it around in my board and recently took it out of my board.

More recently my keys player/best mate asked if he could have it to use with his Little Phatty and i said to him if he buys, the Mooger Fooger Low pass filter (which are about £188) i'd do a direct swap.

Would any one else do this trade or am i being a bit silly?

Cheers

Any chance of him letting you at least try it out at rehearsal?
I can see the Murf only being useful for recording or very specific live situations; i.e. not as versatile as the LPF.

Sounds like a good deal. I'd do it.

Nah i couldn't try it out first without going to a store to try it, because he would be buying it specifically to trade it

I bet you could sell the murf, buy a used lowpass, and have money leftover to save/spend/blow.

Don't do it!

I own both and definitely have more use for the LPF. Having said that, I probably wouldn't trade my MuRF... If he is a buddy and you don't want it, then go for it I guess, but as mentioned, you could probably sell it and be further in front.

I don't feel like it would be an even trade straight up. I've owned a MURF and am currently on my second time around with the LPF and clearly the Low Pass Filter is much more useful on bass guitar. That said I have seen the LPF recently in the TB classifieds for less than $200.00 were as you never see a MURF used and if you do they are well over $250.00. I say trade and have him kick in some cash or at least buy you a few pints of Samuel Smith.

Keep it and get a Freq Box and an LPF (and all the rest of them for that matter).

Freq Box is next on my GAS list thanks to this demo. And I thought I had that GAS under control.

Now THAT'S the plan!

I like that idea but i'll never get round to having the money to spend on the collection, or even one more.

So for now the MuRf would just sit there and not get used if i dont get rid of it, but i cant help feel its an item that one day i might regret getting rid of.
