Not sure if the Forest Green is the same as the BJFE Pine Green Comp or not, but since they're both made by Bjorn, I have to assume they are similar. Bongomania has a review of the Pine Green here:

Yeah, I wouldn't claim/assume that they're totally identical, but the basic idea is (supposed to be) that Mad Professor makes Bjorn's designs in a more efficient and cost-effective manner, sort of like a Skyline or Metro version of BJFE. However Mad Professor's versions cost almost as much as the BJFE's, so I have no idea what the deal is "really" at this point.

Essentially though it would be realistic to think that the Forest Green and the Pine Green would at least be very similar.

Bumping with a question.

Is there any real tonal difference between the hand-wired Mad Professor Forest Green and the CB model? I do know that being half the price and having a rotary knob vs. a switch are both massive perks....

I haven't directly A/B'ed them yet, but a few honest-seeming folks on TGP have done and they say the CB ones sound exactly the same.

I've got a forest green and I think its great! doesnt do silly attack-dipping or big swell type compression and tbh the tone control on mine doesnt seem to do anything, but in the sustain mode you can blend teh compressed tone with the the dry signal and it just seems to make my tone bigger.

Its promised to my guitarist though - he loves it, im getting my by with the tube comp on my M9 (which isnt bad)

Very reassuring. TGP's users also tend to be on the up and up, so I'd trust them, too. Possible review, bongo?

I'm really curious about this compressor, I wish there were someplace I could plug into it and test it.

No longer satisfied with my MultiComp this comp is up there in my curiosity list along with the TLC and to-be-released MXR comp.

I've also been thinking that a good EQ pedal is actually what I'm after instead of a good compressor, but I ramble...

Well I already did review the handwired version (note the date this thread was started), so I've got that going for me.

I know, I meant an A/B review of the hand-wired and CB.

Honestly, at this point someone would have to mail me both of them, as free loaners, for me to bother.

Take the LIRR to New Hyde Park, the Pedal geek is there, he must have the MadProf (as well as the TLC & MXR)

I'm planning on trying my buddy John's TLC soon, but also want to try the other two on your list, the MXR and mad prof,

I'm trying to find a 9v comp that can handle my extreme barrage of low end.
I use a powerful active system and dime the lows,
it seems i get low end loss from everything but my
Boss LMB-3.

I may be destined to by a pedal w more powerful voltage,
but the MXR headroom-thingy they're advertising caught my attention,
if it was made for bass...maybe it'll handle extremely powerful lows..I'm hoping.

I was there yesterday with my guitarist! Cool guy, sweet selection of pedals, and Boutique amps!
