I've acquired two new pedals during the summer, and while I've had all intentions of sharing this information, it was just never something I got around to do. But I figured better late than never.
Here they are:
That's a smallsound/bigsound Team_Awesome Fuzz Machine on the right. I've been GASing for one of those ever since I saw one, and I had to wait for Brian to get back from tour before I could order it. Got it in a nice purple color (Brian's a great guy to work with).
Next to it is a Earthquaker Devices Grand Orbiter phaser. Also another pedal I was GASing for ever since I heard it was announced. I noticed the newer ones now are red. I don't know if there was a design change, but I liked the black design. I bought this off of Mr. Pickles. I don't know if its my perfect phaser, but its quite close! Until someone builds a clone of the Maestro Stage Phaser (the huge one), I'm glad to stick with this one.
And for fun, here is a picture of all my current pedals, minus two that I don't use and will sell when I get around to it:
Top row: BBE Sonic Stomp and an EHX Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai
Middle: ED Grand Orbiter, smallsound/bigsound TAFM and a Boss ODB-3
Bottom: Boomerang III Phrase Sampler.
As much as I come across pedals that I think are cool as hell, I really only buy what I need, or know I can use more than once. I'd rather be really creative with one pedal, than have three that I do one thing on.
On a sidenote, I plan on replacing the SMMwH with a Boss DD-3. Its cool, but I don't use delay much, and when I do I only use clean (not echo). I also like the hold mode on the DD-3, as it can get pretty choppy. With the money left over, I'll pick up a Korg Pitchblack Tuner (obviously something I need). The only other pedal I plan to acquire is the new EHX Freeze and possibly an octaver. Again, I would love some more crazy sounding pedals, but I'm thinking realistically, what I can utilize often.
