Frantone Bassweet -How Do You or Did You Like to Dial Your Tone?

Sign in to disble this ad
Alrighty. I like the pedal. I really do! I'm just interested in knowing how you guys like dialing it in. I usually set the volume at unity, keep the tone at noonish and keep the sustain near 8ish where it doesnt sound like a beehive. Maybe I should throw it in a loop so it's not so white noisyish but I'm assuming thats the nature of the pedal. Also I have V1 of the Bassweet.

I set the volume slightly above unity, the tone on the bassier side of noon (usually around 10 o'clock or so) and the sustain almost completely at the minimum.

And I pretty much never strayed from those settings. To me the Bassweet wasn't a versatile pedal, it was an on/off fuzz, but I really dug it's tone.

this sounds consistent with my fave setting on the V1 I had. I might have set the sustain closer to ten, but still

definitely not versatile but in a category of its own.

I have a v3 (I think), which I got from Grygrx. Gain at low settings sounds real weak, I usually run it cranked for a full on wall of fuzz, where it sounds like a cross between a Supercollider and a Wooly Mammoth. Useable range on the tone is around 9 to 1 o'clock.

whats up with the sustain though....its like virtually useless unless you have a low volume setting. i really love the sound/pedal though.

Is v2 the latest then? I know it was updated to the latest specs after the bassfuzz.com review.

I don't know which version I have (I haven't opened it to look), but I keep it at similar settings to BigO and RCC: tone to the bassier side, and sustain set low.

yeah seems like thats the norm bongo. i just am wondering in what instances the sustain would be set high as it seems it is virtually useless IMHO. thanks.

This pedal is very sensitive to input level too, a hot signal going in really oversaturates it. I seem to be the opposite to most of you though, favouring the higher gain settings... I'll do some clips I suppose while I still have it in my posession!
