Full tone

this is closer to an effect question than it is a tone question, but here it is.

I like poppin/slappin and all that jive, funk and blues are my favorite kinds of music to play. Although from a listening aspect, I enjoy extreme metal more than anything. So the story is, I have been trying to start a black metal band with a friend of mine on vocals/drums. Unfortunately black metal isn't very popular where we live so finding members has been tough to say the least.

I am terrible on guitar, which usually drives this sort of music, but I thought just maybe if I purchase the right chorus pedal I could make an effect on bass similar to the held-out-power-chords black metal is known for.

alright and obviously we aren't going to play live like this, i just figure if we can get some people to listen to our stuff online, we may have an easier time finding members.

any suggestions???

Since bass pretty much doubles guitar all the time in black metal, it makes sense.
I'd go with an octaver rather than a chorus though. WIth the proper amount of distortion you shall be able to play as a duo.

when u say "play as a duo" are u saying I could play at 2 different octave(s) at once? I'm not trying to be a smart ass, i honestly don't know.

Yes, there are pedals which take your signal and put out an octave above, an octave below, a harmony like a strummed chord, or some other variation or combination of those. Some of these pedals are like a distortion one octave up, and some of them are more like a synthesizer that plays new notes in addition to the ones you play. Search on "octave" in this forum for more info about specific models etc.

I hope you have a good enough distortion/fuzz before you get into modulation. +1 on octave before chorus (for this application).

And I see that you only have a 115 at the moment. Get a 410, if possible.
