I'm looking for a SVT CL or VR kind of valve overdrive, but I have a SVT3 pro head!! Anyone has tried this two overdrive units and can tell me which one can get me closer to that sound?

THANKS!!

Maybe try a clean booster in front of the preamp?

I have the Fulltone, and it's not really that close to an SVT, but it's still a great overdrive... try a Sansamp, I'm in the market for one of those (looking to beef up my tone).

I tried the Sansamp and did not like the distortion. It sounded quite much like the Boss bass overdrive, which I do not like at all. I look for something more like the SVT growl. Anyone hace tried the EBS?

Do a search. You'll find I've done soundclips for both of those pedals, and I think I even did them all through an SVT-3 Pro.

I love the MultiDrive. I'm not sure how it would compare to the SVT though, but you can have a listen to the sound clips over at the EBS site, here.

Me too I love my MultiDrive. I tested a lot of overdrives for bass including the fulltone even sold my MultiDrive once and buying it back. I love the tube sim which gives a nice smooth overdrive without harsh highs. I always use the active mode with my passive basses for more control. Does it for me.

I've listened to the EBS site samplers, and on the TUBE mode, the effect sounds quite natural, just as a good overdrive. I don't like it when they mistake overdrive and distortion, as it happens with the Boss overdrive, do you know what I mean?

I took the Fulltone over the EBS. The "clean comp" mode is great for a boost infront of your amp, and with the mosfet switch, you can get a wide range of tones. Sweet pedal!
