Fulltone Bassdrive and Hollowbodies

Sign in to disble this ad
I originally got a Fulltone Bassdrive to add a little bit more low to my Fender P-Bass Lyte (which has about as much bottom as a stick insect) and it was great- a really warm sound, then a great big boom when the boost kicks in. When I bought a Waterstone Indra Semi-Hollow I found that the pedal added absolutely nothing of worth except a little bit of tinny overdrive and I mostly used it on the comp-cut setting to add some volume. Are there any overdrive pedals that work better with hollowbodies? Would a guitar oriented one (like the BBE Green Screamer) provide more boost without detracting from the fuller tone of a hollowbody?
