Sooooooo... been mixing / sequencing / mastering a record for the last two months... meaning no full-band / full-live-rig rehearsals for a long while. Few days ago we finally reconvened for our first practice of the year to get ready for SXSW... and my Bassdrive is acting pretty weird. It passes signal just fine when its bypassed, but when i engage it, it seems to cut out... like the overdriven tone blasts out the way it should for about a 1/4 of a second, then immediately crackles and cuts out, and after a second or two it settles and usually stays fine. Sometimes it'll crackle a bit if i leave it on for a while. Now this pedal has been mounted on my pedalboard this whole time, in its case, in storage with all my other gear, so its not like anything has changed... Last time I had any kind of issue like this the culrpit was the George L patch cables i was using, but since this passes signal perfectly in bypass mode it can't be that. I power this with a one spot along with a VT bass pedal, an EHX bass big muff, and a korg tuner.
What would you assume might cause this and is it something i can fix on my own? I do work down the street from fulltone in Culver City, so theoretically it shouldn't be hard to get a repair if i need one, but maybe you guys can shed some light before i go dismantling my pedalboard. Thanks!
