Fulltone CFV-2 -any news?

Sign in to disble this ad
Fulltone discontinued the Choralflange in June of 2008 to make way for their new modulation pedal dubbed CFV-2(the acronym stands for Chorus/ Flange/ Vibrato).

A TB search didn't turn up anything. I'm going to e-mail Fulltone right now; when they respond, I'll post my findings.

Anyone else have any info?

Limbo

It's been five days since my email and Fulltone has not gotten back to me.

Maybe I'll try to give them a phone call today.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a response, I've had more success getting hold of Sonny!

You can't disrespect it - I'm the resurrected. Back from the dead, just to mess with your head.

Anyway, The CFV-2 is coming in March. Assuming its only real competition is the EHX Stereo Polychorus, I have to try this pedal. And I'm devoted to my Polychorus.

Fulltone CFV-2 May release

From:
http://www.fulltone.com/stpframe.asp

Fulltone ((Stereo)) Analog CFV-2 (Chorus/Flange/Vibrato)
5/15/09 release
• Stereo Analog Chorus: way more transparent (if that's your desire) than the old Fulltone CF-1. way more headroom, way Thicker fatter (if that's your thing) and you can blend in the exact amount of vibrato you desire, which puts you in to (and well past) the thick CE-1 sounds that have been misisng for 25 years.
• Stereo Analog Vibrato (via separate footswitch) True Pitch-Bend Vibrato that can be as subtle or as bombastic as you want thanks to the "Delay Time," "Overdrive," and "Mix" knobs. No, this is not CE-1 style vibrato, this is Magnatone-style pure non chorused like he old Boss VB-2 only much better because you can vary the delay time to as wide or narrow a pitchbend as you like.
• Stereo Analog Flange (with ultra slow mode and "stall mode" for combed filter effects
• Analog Delay Mode: can be used as a 50ms stereo slap delay: for quick slaps or ambient effects
Features:
• Volume Knob: allows you to Boost, Cut, or even use the pedal as a dedicated Clean Boost with Mix control set full counter Clockwise (CCW)
• Drive Knob: yep, has built in OVERDRIVE via mini knob to thicken up, downright Distort, or make it crystal clean..all modes and Yes, with the "Mix Knob" all the way off use it a Bad-assed standalone Overdrive....talk about earning its place on the pedal board.
• Mix Knob: a true Mix control bringing in exactly the right amount of effected signal with the original
• Speed Knob: great oscillator and LFO design, gets super slow and blinding fast speeds.. Does great Rotating Speaker simulations as well!

My mistake. It's coming in May. If I hadn't just forked out more money than I should have on bike gear, and then paid for three Spinal Tap tickets (well, sort of), I'd be after that CFV-2. And I still assume it's Fulltone's Polychorus killer, and I'm Polly's... um... I can't say the next word, or the TB carabiniere will get me.

I think I read your Polychorus thread a while back. That's my favorite chorus ever, but the power supply and form factor kicked it off my board.

Hopefully the CFV will cover some of the same ground.
