Fulltone OCD - Different Versions! Which do Bassists like Best?!?!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys....Im interested in picking up an OCD. Not sure though......what are your guys' thoughts and which version do you like best for bass? There are four and I've read up on em but most of the reviews have been done by guitarists. Anywho, give me your thoughts! Thanks!

From what I've read/heard, V4 is the least bass friendly...
I'm curious to hear some input on this!

I don't know which version I have, but it's a killer o/d nonetheless. How exactly could I find out? Because whichever one I've got, it's creamy, somewhat raspy, and virtually no low end loss.

Check that, it's the 4th version. If mine is the worst, the other 3 must be sublime. I have no problems with version 1.4.

I have 3 and I really like it. The LP mode scoops it a bit, but it makes up for it in thump it adds.

Version 4 is marked 1.4, as in the first was 1.1, 1.2, etc. So no, just got a brand new version 4 a few weeks ago. Negligable low end loss, very natural sounding grit, plays well with a Mk 4.23 boost in front of it. No complaints. It's somewhat like the EBS Valve Drive, but without the warmth and low end boost. The OCD will stay on my board for keeps.

How can you tell what version they are? I really like mine. There isn't much lowend loss, but I use mine in a separate loop with an EQ pedal to boost the lows a little more. It doesn't really NEED it, but I like it like that.
