I have a Fulltone FB-3 on order, but found the Xotic in another thread...the controls are the same, now what am i gunna do?
I know the Fulltones are 100% hand built here in CA, but designed for guitar, I used to have a FB-1 and it was great, wish I never sold it, Now the FatBoost-3?!
Thoughts/ Recommendation?
Please stick to these two pedals here, not looking for what you think is better than either of these. VS. http://www.fulltone.com/FB.asp http://www.xotic.us/effects/base_rc/

If that kind of thing bothers you, the RC is an EXCELLENT choice. The EQ is powerful and it only takes a very slight rolloff of the treble to eliminate any perceived "hiss", and since the boost curve is already optimized for bass, even that might not be necessary
ehx is about to release the Mole though, which may turn out to be a good budget option as the Xotic is not too cheap |

It added a lot of weird low-mid stuff that didn't gel with my already low-mid heavy setup!
The original version was great on bass, but was not really a flat "clean boost". It definitely added some mids, but in a good way! It was great for overdriving preamps & making sterile ss gear sound,well,.. fatter! I almost wish I'd have kept it.
I'd love to know how the version 3 sounds on bass. Especially if the eq frequency centers are effective.... |

I highly recommend it to anyone. |

RC = Super Clean boost, flat two-band EQ. Nearly unparalleled strictly as a clean boost in terms of clarity and purity.
FB3 = Capable of clean boost, but excels at dirty boost. Bass is flat at center, but treble is flat when all the way up. |

Plugged it in and stomped on it a few times, changed a few settings, stomped again...turned everything off, looked at the wife and said with a big grin, "well, that's that!" It literally took about 1 minute to fall in love with it. EXACTLY what I have been looking for!
