i have the spb8 (old one) and absolutely love it.
the spb8c (new one) looks cool, and i'd upgrade but for a few issues:
-apparently the velcro pad isn't as adhesive as others (though i have to give this a shot with my own velcro.. might be totally fine. i'll post again after i test it out!)
-those latches that hold the lid on are WEAK. they'll be the first things to go. i've already seen it happen.
-too big! unless i'm touring on a plane or something, i don't need all that bulky protection. the pad itself is only about one inch bigger than the spb8, but the whole thing itself is way bigger. (then again, due to the aforementioned latch problem, i'd personally look into other options if i was checking it on a plane. i'd either get a flightcase for the spb8, or maybe get an MKS pedal pad [which has its own issues as well].)
that being said, i like the fact that you've got
four AC outlets on it. the whole patchbay/power section is much sleeker and more solid. and i
really like the fact that you can unplug the AC cord from the board.
good luck!
