Furman SPB-8C

Hi I'm trying to get my fx together on a pedalboard and found this one:

http://www.furmansound.com/images/highres/SPB-8C_34.jpg

Does anybody had any experience with it?

Worth or not?

Thanks in advance

I think I have the old version of that. Both guitar players in my band use it as well. After seeing that hard case, I might have to upgrade. The only thing is that the patch bay on both guitar players died. I have no clue what happened, but they just run directly into and out of thier pedals. Mine works just fine, but the power supply and having everything together is the best thing about it.

i have the spb8 (old one) and absolutely love it.

the spb8c (new one) looks cool, and i'd upgrade but for a few issues:
-apparently the velcro pad isn't as adhesive as others (though i have to give this a shot with my own velcro.. might be totally fine. i'll post again after i test it out!)
-those latches that hold the lid on are WEAK. they'll be the first things to go. i've already seen it happen.
-too big! unless i'm touring on a plane or something, i don't need all that bulky protection. the pad itself is only about one inch bigger than the spb8, but the whole thing itself is way bigger. (then again, due to the aforementioned latch problem, i'd personally look into other options if i was checking it on a plane. i'd either get a flightcase for the spb8, or maybe get an MKS pedal pad [which has its own issues as well].)

that being said, i like the fact that you've got four AC outlets on it. the whole patchbay/power section is much sleeker and more solid. and i really like the fact that you can unplug the AC cord from the board.

good luck!

I've taken a good, close look at it. No doubt it's a pro item of gear. But I'm leaning in favor of the SKB-45 powered pedalboard instead - the main reason being cost savings.

The Furman does have an integrated power conditioner. But one can always buy a separate rackmount version of that...

FYI: the latches on the PS45 are also quite weak. something to consider!

other than that, it's the same as the spb8 (with a little bigger velcro pad).

Does anyone know why I would lose the Ring connection, when using the patch /ext-effects bay/loop on the furman spb 8c?
From what I now understand, the patch/external effect loop is not trs!
not sure why they would have an effect loop like this?
