furmanpower conditioner and dunlop dc brick

Sign in to disble this ad
did I need to buy both? Or was it over kill? I am thinking that the brick can mount under the pedaltrain and the stompboxes and all the wires can be bunched and tied nicely then the brick into the Furman, the Hartke into the Furman and the Raxxess dual fan in to the Furman conditioner. Is that how I do it? Just got a nice birthday gift from kids ,wife and inlaws so I spent it on the above gear. This is all new to this boy so what [use guyz] think?

They have totally different (power) applications, so it's not overkill - one for rack power, and one for pedal powering. How I would do it would be to get a cheap power strip to mount under or right on the outside of your Pedaltrain - plug the DC Brick into that. If you have pedals that cannot be powered by 9V you can plug the wall warts into the strip. Then (if you wish) you could take the AC cable from the power strip and plug that into your Power Conditioner.

Your thinking is correct, and you could do exactly as you have outlined. It may be easier and give you more room to move your board around if you don't have to rely on just the length of the brick's power cable going directly into the power conditioner in your rack. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you know whatever!!
