I was torn between the Oxide and Frantabit.

The Oxide will be next... I have a Distortion, but no Fuzz.

I'm going to explore new realms.

How do you deal with the multiple expression pedal scenario?

That Xerograph Deluxe is Full of GREASY Goodness!!!!

Been tweaking for a few hours. Awesome. Very pleased.

I'll get to know the Frantabit better this weekend. I tweaked through it for a few minutes and I was grinning ear to ear.

What exactly does the Frantabit mode knob do when you don't have an expression pedal attached? It shouldn't do anything, right? Or am I wrong?

If I switch between modes, without a pedal attached, what is happening?

There's some detailed info in the manual, but the most important tidbit from that section of the manual is that, if you don't have an expression pedal hooked up, always keep the pedal in "S" mode. This will allow full control over all parameters.

The more in-depth answer to your question is that, when you are in B, +, or M modes, either bit depth or mix will be controlled by the non-existent expression pedal and the relevant knob for the expression-controlled parameter will be inactive. I can't think of any situation in which you'd want that, so keeping it in Sample Rate mode lets all the knobs do their thing; since in S mode, the expression pedal doesn't replace the Sample Rate knob, but rather they work in tandem, when the expression pedal is not present all of the controls function as if the pedal had no expression jack at all.

Just for those who want to know the exact behavior even when doing weird things: when you do put the pedal in B, +, or M modes with no expression pedal, the pedal acts the same as if there was an expression pedal in the heel-down position.

Hope that helps!

Ahh, yes... The Manual. I didn't realize the knob would be "on" without a pedal attached... Does that make sense?

Thanks Taylor. Your answer was thorough and more informative than the manual.

BTW... I Love the Pedals. :^)

I *JUST* got my Oxide, Xero and Franta.

I didn't even get time to plug them and try them because it's too late and the neighbors don't really care for my subby sounds.

Anyways, I put them all on my (brand new board) and I'll be having a lot of fun tomorrow!
I'll be posting a picture of the whole board once everything is velcroed and wired.
