Fuzz with a blend knob... suggestions ?

Sign in to disble this ad
I like my EHX Bass Big Muff on the dry mode, but I really wish I could get an adjustable clean blend. I've done a search and found some interesting stuff, but I would like to know if you had suggestions for a mid-low budget (up to $100-110, preferably used) for a good an reliable pedal. Can't be bigger than a Big Muff too.

An overdrive with a clean blend could do the job too, but not a Pork Loin, I already have one !

Thanks !

For some reason this is the only that is coming to mind.

FEA Labs - Professional Bass & Guitar Effects - Photon Fuzz

$200 is kinda up there for a fuzz pedal though.

I think the Smallsound/Bigsound Team Awesome Fun Machine might also have a blend on it [Edit: It does].

If all else fails you could pick up a Boss LS-2.

What do you mean by clean blend? The volume knob on the BBM essentially becomes a clean blend in dry mode.

Do you want more clean sound in the mix? You could turn down the fuzz and turn up your volume either on the bass or on the amp.

Chunk brown dog. IE oxide. Both a little more than a hundred used, but worth the extra bucks

I just thought about it, is it possible to mod a Big Muff to add a clean blend ? I really like the tone of a Muff.

I love my Bass Mig Muff, but in like your situation, the best thing I did was doing the master volume mod to the pedal.
This adds in one volume pot on the side of the case and all you cut and splice is one wire, then you have total control on how much fuzz to blend in and control the 'dry' clean volume separately from the fuzz. Made great pedal even more awesome.

This is the mod thread. I installed my pot on the 'input' side of the case as I felt more space was on that side.

I didn't do the second toggle though, didn't feel I needed it.

TREX makes their Bass Juice fuzz pedal with a blend option.

It is one of my favorite fuzz's and fuzz must be my favorite effect. It can go from subtle to chainsaw if you want it to.

Attack Goat. I love that name. Billy goats can be downright mean!

Dudes.

Team Awesome Fuzz Machine.

$110 might be a bit on the low side though...hmmmmmm...

I saw one go for $120 once, but even that's somewhat uncommon.

If you already like your fuzz pedal, why not go for a blend pedal?

Radial BigShot MIX - true bypass fx loop controller/mixer

Radial Engineering BigShot MIX Effects Loop Mixer: Shop Guitars & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend

I use the same thing and it works wonderfully. You can use any distortion pedal you want and blend in the clean signal.

Thanks guys ! The Muff Mod is exactly what I need and won't cost me much, so I'll try it !

By the way, I thought about a blend pedal, but my Pedaltrain mini is already overcrowded and I don't want to add more stuff on it.

TAFM, W&C Pickle Pie B or Oxide will cover every tone you'll need.

the BBM is a piece of dooooooky.

IME/IMO all that.
