Fuzz Face clone w/ Blend for bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Since my lack of finances has put many of my projects on hold, I figure it doesn't hurt to keep coming up with ideas.

This latest monster is my attempt to fuse a fuzz face (with NTE123A's, or whatever would work for this. When it comes to transistors I know nothing.) and blender into one circuit, allowing the clean signal to be fed back in to recover low end loss.

There is no bypass drawn in because I'm not to that stage yet.

So, hows it look?

Instead of just having a clean blend, I would suggest adding a variable low-pass filter to the clean signal so you can get some really bass-heavy sounds out of it.

Also, your capacitor values are off from any of the schematics I've seen, what's your info source?

Just for comparison purposes, here is a rough schema of one of the very best bass-specific fuzz faces I've tried:

I'll have to build those two up on my breadboard and hear how they sound.

Woah, forgot about this. A terribly drawn schematic.

I'm also working on such a pedal at the moment as well.

i built a standard AC127 NPN BYOC Fuzz Face and i haven't noticed low end loss. had 2 analogman sun faces (germ and silicon) and didn't notice low end loss there either.
