fuzz pedal order?

Sign in to disble this ad
hello all i was wondering what is the general consensus with regards to fuzz pedal order? i have quite a few and some play well with others andsome have to be in front of them. here is what i have and the order

wooly mammoth clone
gnomeratron vtf
way huge swollen pickle
guttermouth-modded russian big muff
boss fz-2 hyper fuzz
fender sub-lime bass fuzz
montreal assembly wrong side of uranus

the wooly mammoth has to go first or it gets mad. the uranus sounds good at the end of anything to me. if anything goes into either muffs then the muff overpowers it.also anything can go into the fender and it adds its own character without overpowering the other's voice ...any advice out there fuzz-heads?

they all run into a dunlop bass wah. (i prefer fuzz into wah)

The only thing I've ever been particular about is my B:Assmaster always has to be the Alpha, or it gets really pissed off.

havent had the pleasure if trying an assmaster (had the bogdan clone loved it but had a friend that really wanted it). the gnomeratron can cop brassmaster sounds really well though esp. with the octave up switch on. the gnomeratron might be moved around to see if i can blend two fuzzes as it has a cleanish blend with tine (curious runnjng a muff with tone low into the vtf with cleanish tone low) im off of work in a few hours.

If you ever want to, I'm not that far from Fontana.

I'm in Fullerton and usually am available on Monday, Friday, and every other weekend. I have one of the B:Assmaster with the expression input, which is loads of fun!

You just have to move stuff around. I have a bunch of fuzz together as well and they only get along if my dwarfcraft pedals are first in my chain. Also I've had to add separate dedicated power supplies for some because they are power hogs. Play with it and you'll figure it out.

After over 3 hours of moving, playing, octaving, blending and overall madness here is where Im at....

Boss OC-2: Octave
"Planeta Fuzz" Wooly Mammoth Clone Gated Fuzz
Way Huge Swollen Pickle MK II Fuzz
Guttermouth-Modded Russian Big Muff
Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz
Gnomeratron VTF
"The Love Box" Fender Sub-Lime Bass Fuzz
"Wah-Wah Whale" Dunlop 105Q Bass Wah-Wah
3-Leaf Audio Groove Regulator
"Pump N Dump" Montreal Assembly Wrong Side of Uranus

The OC-2 has to go first as its an analog octaver. The wooly mammoth clone is next because anything else run into it gets it really mad (not in a good way). WHSP is next which goes into the Big Muff (the other way around made the Pickle mad!). The Boss FZ-2 is next as it can tolerate just about anything! Gnomeratron is next as it has the cleanish blend to run say brassmaster with muff tones for cool madness. The Fender Sub-Lime adds its own beautiful harmonics to anything run into it while adding its own flavor. THe wah/envelope filters can either make the fuzz funky, synthy or even more growly depending on the fuzz and settings on the envelope filter/wah amount of treadle. The Uranus bitcrushes anything and also has blipo (tremolo) for pulsating fuzz madness.

the wooly mammoth is a clone so maybe that plays factor bt it behaves fine with the oc-2 before it but any fuzz and it gets really mad.
