Fuzzrocious Dark Driving Questions

Sign in to disble this ad
So Ive fallen in love with Troy Sanders's fuzz tone of recent. Its really really low and theres a ton of bass, but with also a ton of fuzz. Its just not like buzzsaw fuzz, its really subtly heavy fuzz.

So anyway, would the Dark Driving pedal be something I may wanna look into more if thats what I would be going for?

Gear:
I play an LTD ex 104 into a GK mb210+GK mb 410

pedals: VT bass, Fuzz Factory, Hardwire Reverb, Flashback Delay, Weeping Demon Wah

0:45 the bass starts for reference
Mastodon - The Bit live at The Aragon 2009 - Melvins cover - YouTube

granted I know hes playing through amps that far out class mine but, i mean im obsessed with this sound

Troy's sound is muff-based. A dd can get your there for sure. A gs will also do it, since it's a muff variant.
Funny you mention this, as I'm seeing these dudes tomorrow!

thanks for the info!

ahhhhhhh im so bummed, i couldnt make it to the NY show!!!

whats gs btw (oh a grey stache........wow took me a second)

The Grey Stache looks like its more versatile and thats the only thing i can think of with the DD. But its a "set it and forget it" kind of thing so yea idk, i wish i could demo one!!

There's a mod for the DD where we can set the knobs on the outside so you can change on the fly.
