Well, it keeps coming up, so I decided to fire off a few (slightly) less crappy clips of this wah o'mine. All clips feature my Valenti, into pedals, into a firewire interface, into Garage Band. All effects are pedals, nothing else going on. All clips start with a short snippet of the "base" tone (as in, no wah-in' a-goin' on), then a longer (usually) snippet with wah. Okay, clips!
Clip one is clean fingerstyle playing. This is the only clip I played fingerstyle.
Clip two is clean pickstyle playing.
Clip three is clean, muted pickstyle playing.
Clip four is pickstyle into an overdrive (FEA Dual Band Distortion) into the wah (so, wah post-od).
Clip five is pickstyle into a fuzz (Music Electronix [Zeibek] Messdrive, which is not the optimal fuzz for this application since it is so compressed and synthy, but it's my only fuzz right now, so I put the gain to low, rolled the volume knob on my bass to half, and we went to war with the army we had) into the wah (wah post-fuzz).
Clip six is pickstyle into the wah into distortion (Aguilar AGRO), and is pretty damn loud (sorry, I must have nudged up the volume accidentally on the AGRO--it was unity-matched when I started).
Clip seven is pickstyle into the fuzz (still the Messdrive) into the wah into the distortion (still the AGRO), and is also pretty damn loud (again, mea culpa).
