| Gainiac 2 vs Bmax

Two examples used in my area the Bmax for $180 and the Rocktron Ganiac 2 for $150. The gainiac 2 is supposed to be for both bass and guitar. Any thoughts either way on these two preamps.
Playing style is progressive rock metal, some slap playing. I like to keep my rig flexible though, as in able to comp many styles/gigs well.
