GC commercial with $29 pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
My wife came running and claimed she saw a "pedal" in a GC commercial for this weekend for $29. (Isn't she cute!) She claimed it was orange/red in color. Showed her some pics, she said it looked like the Boss DS-1.

Of course, I can't find the commercial and have been watching awful movies on TBS waiting for the commercial to come back.

Any of the U.S. brothers or sisters see it?

I think it was the MXR classic distortion. I saw the commercial today and looked up when they said $29 regular $133 and there was a green pedal being shown. The MXR is selling for $29 and lists for $133.

It is the CL-1 that was the lead up to the now M-66 that is also selling for $29. It is the Classic Overdrive. VERY transparent and works like a great boost/mild OD. I like it for both guitar and bass.

I got one Friday and was just coming on here to tell you guys it is GREAT with bass. I was just trying in about 10min ago and it freakin rocking my world. I say grab one if you can!

GC is the only place to get them right now, the info isn't even on MXR web page yet!

Anyone know if it's going to stay that price, or is this an actual guitar center sale?

My guess is it's a sale. They did a Black Friday sale edition of this pedal too.

Hmm. I've been wanting some sort of overdrive for bass. I might have to hop on that despite how close to being completely broke I am. Can anyone else confirm it's usefulness with bass?

I saw it and it was a green MXR overdrive IIRC.

This one is basically a tubescreamer, the original $30 MXR was a distortion III clone

hmmm... is this a surface-mount circuitboard or would it be cheap tubescreamer to mod?

Its actually the MXR Classic Overdrive, its green. I thought it was the distortion too, but a closer look, its the overdrive, and yup, its $30

Well, I hope these are at least half-way decent. But if not, no great loss.

i'm sure it would sound good in a parallel blend loop, like most Tubescreamers do.

I'm sure it will sound like a $30 tube screamer clone. Find any one of the many and plug away.

Any chance of clips? A pedal for $30 is always tempting.
