I'm not one to usually post something quite along these lines, but I've been back and forth on this for a while & want to find a liveable solution. I have a line 6 bass pod xt, (the bean) and an AKG wireless receiver, (for the guitar bug) about the same size, and I would like to semi-permanently mount them in a box that I can fit a power strip to as well. I can't rack mount the bass pod, and I haven't found a deal on a pro xt that I can live with yet. AKG sell's rack strips for the receiver, but it's UHF, I'm not sure how much longer I have until digital is the way I have to go, and rack mounting may be questionable on it's replacement too.
So I am thinking, something with two or three shelves (of sorts) the top one open for access to the top of the pod. The wireless receiver will slide in anywhere and it's only one rack space high, so it's real flexible. I would like to have the pod somewhat fitted so when I close the case, it's not all over the place. I'd like something I can put either on the floor, or on top of the cabinet.
I do have the ability to build something from scratch, but I would kind of like to modify something rather than build it all myself & have it look totally redneck engineered.
Your thought's and ideas? Thanks.
