I'm using both at the moment, and Lava cables gets the most love.
Mostly due to the fact that they're smaller than George L's, but also because I think they're easier to assemble, once you get the technique right.

But if you're re-arranging your board on a regular basis, soldered cables are the way to go.
Solderless kits are a bit fragile - keep that in mind.

I'm not a big fan of any solderless cable/connector system. One thing I like them for is mocking up lengths for eventual replacement with soldered cables. I have a bias because I make cables, but I don't make a living (or anything close to it) from that. What I do see is players fumbling around on stage trying to find the bad connection in a pedalboard setup. EVERY time, It is George-L or some variant. I played a gig two weeks ago and the guitar player was using a George-L instrument cable, which proceeded to cut out several times during the gig. I offered him a GS-6/Neutrik cable for free... take it. Stop using that bad cable. No chance: he liked the "tone" of the George-L.

Another Audiot Bites The Dust. Don't be that guy.

I'd say that huge % of guys using solderless kits simply can't put it together properly.
