Maybe I'm a dolt... likely.
But, following the directions on the George L site, I'm not getting any current through the positive (tip) of the cables.
My handy multimeter says I've got current through the body, but not through the tip.
I'm pretty positive I'm doing something wrong, or *not* doing something right...
Any tips from you GeorgeL gurus?
Thanks!

Either that or maybe the cable went in crooked. The deal is, inside the plug cavity there is a sharp pin. That pin is supposed to poke into the core wire of the coax. If the cable isn't inserted properly, the pin just sticks in the insulation and makes no contact. |

I may have a pedalboard to post later in the week...

I did fifteen of them, and only one didn't work properly first time, and that was because it involved the raw end of the cable they shipped to me - trimming a couple of mm off it fixed it.
Cut with a sharp knife (stanley or similar), make sure there's a nice shiny core visible, make sure it's not shorting against the shielding and you should be OK. Push them hard into the fitting, bend the cable just enough to get the cap on, and screw the cap until it's flush with the top of the plug. That should do it. |

The Planet Waves Cable Station cables use a similar solderless approach. if the pin doesn't make contact with the inner wire, it won't work.
