George L's stress caps replacement

Anybody knows what is the cheaper alternative for george L's caps? any ideas? I just don't feel the need to spend 50$ on rubbers

I don't even have the caps on most of mine.

I have the caps for looks. you don't need them unless your board gets moved around and jiggled a lot.

Use colored electric or clear scotch tape.
