Germanium-Based Boosts

Does anyone know of any germanium-based boosts (NOT a treble-booster) that can be used for a boost or a light overdrive. This would be pretty similar to the Cream Pie, and seeing the success of those I was wondering if there any other similar products.

I just had germanium diodes swapped out to LEDs instead, I wanted a really ULTRA light overdrive, more of a saturation, and LEDs made a great job in the end here (we tried silicons as well, that was ok too, but LEDs are looots softer).

There will be clips one day from me on this.

On the DHA -VT1-HP-bass you have a switch: you can choose between silicium drive or germanium driven

I wonder if there's an easy mod to max out bass response. I've always been curious to try this lil guy.

Yes but that is a germanium-based treble boost. There is a huge difference between a Rangemaster clone and something like the Cream Pie.

The HBE one is a remake of the old Rangemaster treble booster as far as I know.

EDIT: D'oh, people beat me to it

I own the EHX Germanium OD, and I personally love it. You can get some extreme voltage-starve sounds out of it, but I've come to realize that it can do subtle OD/boost sounds as well. Underrated pedal.

you made the clip in the wiki database, right? Do you use it mostly in a blend loop or is the bass useable within a certain range?

Itīs kinda more of a treble boost, but I dig using a Germanium FuzzFace.

As I said a few minutes ago in the other thread about the GermOD, that clip sounds awful because the mic was clipping like hell. I need to rerecord something. I hope to do so this weekend. I generally do not use it in a blend loop, I have been moving away from blend loops altogether lately. I've decided I don't really like the blended sound.
