Getting the flats sound on a sansamp?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am using a pbass with roundwounds. Looking to get an imitation "flats" sound by dialing it in on my sansamp pbddi.

Anyone ever do this? Settings?

thanks

You won't really be able to get anywhere close, but start by rolling off the tone on your bass and/or the treble/presence on the Sansamp.

Thanks. Yeah, that was what I kinda thought too, but figured I would see if anyone has tried it.

Put some flats on your bass and with the sansamp you can emulate your roundwound tone. Flats are amazing man. I have not looked back since.

stick a foam mute under the strings near the bridge. that's about the only thing i've heard that even comes close to sounding like flats with rounds.

Yeah I tried that once. I kept them on my Ric for about 3 band practices trying desperately to be able to leave them on, because they feel so nice. I use an RBI. Nothing I did ever made it sound anywhere close to round wounds.

Crank the treble and add a little bit of overdrive = round wound tone
