GGG Black Russian Reissue

Sign in to disble this ad
I was flicking about on the GGG website and noticed that the BMP kit had all the components to make it into the following versions:

* Triangle Version
* Ram's Head Version
* Violet Ram's Head Version
* Late 70's (3rd) Version
* Green Russian Reissue Version
* Black Russian Reissue Version
* GGG Tuned Version

As I have serious GAS for a Black Russian Muff at the moment, and not alot of money, I was wondering how this would compare to it.

Does anybody have any experience of this kit and the Russian version?

You can also make the Civil War version too.

All of JD's kits sound spot-on to the originals.

Civil War is the Civil War.
It's a Russian variant. You can find the component changes in the Russian schematics on the GGG site.

Thank you =)

I've just had a flick around on here searching for stuff about the Black Russian, and everybody says that it is smoother and has less gain. I knew that this was the general view of it's sound, but I also found somebody who said that the EHX Bass Big Muff was based on it. As I already have the BBM, will i be dissapointed with the Black Russian?

Also, somebody has now offered to sell me a Black Russian Big Muff, so I am now les concerned about the kit.

The BBM has more options, so IMHO stick w/ that over a black russian clone.

Ok, thank you =)

Just for future reference, are there any noticable differences between the BBM and the Black Russian?
