I've been using a Countryman DI to FOH for years. I'm just wondering what everybody's using.

Yea, an engineer from a local soundco said to try the Radial products.

The Rackmount radials? Or the passive boxes?

my only DI has been the sansamp and I got it on sorta a whim, not so much a need. But I definitely dig it.

SABDDI or the one on my Markbass amp or a house DI box, whichever the soundman prefers.

I gig, and I always mic.
However, sometimes you get a soundguy who will insist on using a DI.
Its not worth getting into an argument, so I just use whatever DI they have, usually a Behringer....

I should probably buy a decent DI for these situations, so I will keep an eye on this thread

I use a Sadowsky preamp/DI and I love it. I don't actually use the preamp because my basses are already active but the DI itself gets rave reviews from soundmen--especially the ones that double as bass players!

I use the EBS Microbass II's DI because I double on upright and it's good to have one signal I can match up myself going to FOH for both. But I've used a Countryman many times in the past and I dig it a lot. I dig the Radial line of DI's, too.

Radial JDI for a DI.

Sansamp for a preamp/tone shaping DI.

I usually gig with a combination of both mic'ed and DI, and use whatever the house has for DI box (for better or, usually, worse). This was one of the reasons I got my sansamp, but I have since decided that I like it better at the start of my effects chain than at the end, so I guess I'll be shopping for a new DI soon

Was using a Sadowsky outboard with my Ampeg. Now using the pre-EQ out of the back of the Thunderfunk.

Well, my head's DI was broken the first time I tried it (which of course was just after the warranty had run out).

I gig regularly and .. well, just using whatever DI there is don't really care about it. As long as my p bass' sound will get out there somehow!

To my luck, we have our own, skilled soundguy (he's also a skilled bassplayer), so I'm fine..

Don't need it

haha, kidding, thanks!

I just remembered that my amp doesn't have a DI, but it does have a line out (post EQ) so if they ever want to DI my amp, I will have them run it from that. The line out is 1/4" BTW
