GK3B doesn't get power from AXON AX100

Just received new AX100 and GK3B. Axon powers up but the GK3B power light doesn't light up, so I can't produce any sounds yet. Any clues?

the pinout is here:

Use a multimeter to see if power comes out of the Axon, if it makes it through your cable or if your GK is dead.

Best of :Luck,

Thanks. There's definitely voltage (7V) coming through the cable, so it seems the GK3B may be DOA :-(

Good news: After some 13-pin cable jiggling I managed to get the GK's power LED to light up! Actually, it only seems to properly connect up until about 1/2 way in & thereafter, nothing. So at least I'm now able to trigger notes in the Axon :-)

Initially I've just got it setup in Common mode (no string/fret/pick splits) with the midi out driving patches in the XV-2020, all much more reliably (and polyphonically, of course) than the Sonuus B2M I've been using 'til now.

Meanwhile, I've contacted local music stores to find out if anyone knows of anyone locally who's doing midi guitar or bass. I've been given a single contact and am awaiting a callback to a voice message. The idea is to organise a simple A-B test of cables and GK (or equivalent) pickups & thereby determine whether it's my 13-pin cable or the GK input socket that is faulty. I'll then take appropriate action to replace or repair as needed.

Before that , try contact cleaner in the Axon and in your pickup.

Thanks for the contact cleaner tip - certainly makes sense given the behaviour! Seems they have some at the local Dick Smith. I'll pick some up this weekend & report the results.
