Glitchy Mastotron?

Sign in to disble this ad
When I turn the PW knob in my Mastotron to 12 o'clock or more it starts glitching when I play. Is this the nature of the fuzz or is there a problem with my unit?

Where's the fuzz knob and where's the bias knob when this happens? Is it an active bass?
I play an active, and find the best pulse width is a wider one, like widest (7oclock) to about 10 o'clock with fuzz in a similar position (don't need much) and bias at about 1 o'clock. (Past 1 it's got a weird attack noise) Past noon on PW might seem a bit glitchy...but not DeviEver or Noise Box glitchy! Backing off the bias (counterclockwise) might help.
Also switch on position 2 (unless I lower the slammin bass of the VT box (always on) and the amp's eq)

Thanks for the quick reply. I always play in position 2 with the PW knob turned all the way down, but today I was experimenting with more gated sounds for my future electronica project. My bias is close to 1 o'clock, so I'll try to move it back a bit.
Almost forgot! I play a passive P bass.

I can get a really glitchy, gated sound from mine if I want.

Yeah, as you turn the PW knob clockwise, the fuzz becomes a little more out of control. It's actually a great feature on that pedal. Love mine.

I find with mine there's a kind of overlap, at about noon it's not entirely gated, you get some splutery noise when not playing, i usually set to min to just where it's quiet with the strings muted
