If you use a good one. Those that supply an isolated source to each pedal, like the Voodoo Labs, etc, can prevent noise problems.
Of course you MAY not have noise problems daisy chaining, but it is certainly more likely.
Those types of power supplies also typically have more functionality. My PP2+ is switchable to provide 12V+ on some outputs if needed. You can also combine two outputs to make 18V+. Further, it is equipped with potentiometers on two outputs to "sag" the voltage on those lines. Some effects actually behave in a desirable way when voltage starved.
Of course they are more expensive, and if you don't need any of that functionality, a wall wart is perfectly fine.
