Godlyke TWA Great Divide 2.0 Settings and Discussion
So mine just came today and I'm not sure how I'm gonna get to work on time. Anyhow, I thought I'd start a thread for settings as this guy has so many options inside and out. I will report back soon, just need to get a few more hours in. Anyone who has one knows how incredibly stoked I am right now.
First practice with it was hilarious. Its so intense. Im gonna take a few hours with it tonight and adjust the many trimpots and see if I could tune it. It sounds great though. The guys in my band commented that its the best sounding pedal since Darkglass. And that says alot because they really dont care. Anyone else have to open her up to fix the volume jump?
Btw, I own a bass micro synth and this thing slays it in everyway. Much bigger subs. Better overall synth sound. Octaves down resembles an OC-2 with dirt in front of it. So gnarly.
Still exploring, but one of my favorite sounds is synth and sub only. Synth at unity, sub at about 1/3 unity. Synth (any voice) clocking @ -1.5, sub clocking @ -1.
Also really digging +1 oct, dry source, -1 oct, all at unity, modulation on the +1.
Do yourself a favor and get an envelope filter in the fx loop ASAP. I have my Ultron in the loop and it kills.
Even though you have to play way up high on the neck, clocking the sub at -2 or -2.6 feels monstrous.
So many great uses with this thing. I also really dig the +1,dry and -1. But I like to add a small amount of 1.5 subs.
The only envelope filter I have is the two knob DOD, but it does sound awesome with the GD. Thanks for the recommendation.
What have you found with the internal trims? I turned the -1 up a bit to try and cop and OC-2 tone. It worked great. I keep the highs up on the synth sound.
I'm having the most trouble finding a spot that I dig on the +1 oct.
Sorry for the extra posts
I have responded to two different Great divide threads. I just posted my demo link on the other thread, and will post it here to. Sorry if this brings a whole big pile of Great Divide to the top of the forum.
For my demo I put a Subdecay Prometheus filter in the fx loop. My favorite so far.
Frank, what I remember from my internal tweaking is:
drive down on the +1, wanting it cleaner if possible.
No attack envelope on the synth, so it hits hard and fast.
No xmod, so the clock works only on the sub, not on the -1.
and I think I rolled back the LPF on the sub, but I'm not sure.
I will be curious to hear if I found any sounds in my demo that you haven't discovered yet.......
^ Great job jbybj. What was going on at around 4;04 ? That sounded nuts.
I can't wait to get mine back. I stripped one of the trim pots by accident. Kevin was 100% helpful and repaired it for me. I just had to pay shipping. Excellent customer service. Anyone on the fence should know that. Its hard to drop 4 bills on a pedal. But this pedal will replace 3, if not 4 pedals on my main board. And do just as good a job.
I am pretty sure that was all 5 voices at similar levels.
