Going though the PA with only effects

Sign in to disble this ad
Got a small gig on the end of the month. I don't think we gonna have room for a bass amp, since everyone will plug into a portable peavey PA system except guitarist uses his own small amp.

I use a fender jazz or warwick vette. I not planning to use my full effect board since their won't be any room to place them on the floor except small pedals etc.

I was thinking will the boss ME50B or a vox bass amplug lineout to the PA will get me a ok type of tone?

You should get by OK. If you had a VT bass, you could really dial in a good sound with that one pedal.

Personally, I'd look to using a pre/amp DI box/pedal, like a SansAmp, MXR M80, Aguiler Tone Hammer etc.

You've got your pre amp for tone moulding, like you would on an amp and then an XLR output, bringing your signal up to level for the PA.

i've got MXR M80 on my pedalboard which can be taken out. So XLR output to the PA and inout on the bass.
