Good cheap way to blend dry and wet signal

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a DOD FX-25 which I would like to use blended with my dry signal. Not sure where to start. I'm a big fan of simplicity. Will the Boss LS-2 do the trick? They're easy to find used so...

This has probably been covered in previous threads but my question is so general that I couldn't find what I wanted with a simple search...sorry.

LS-2 would work great. I picked up one used for $40 and it use it for just that. Put your effects in the 'A loop' and leave 'B loop' empty, that will be your dry signal.

but wait...maybe my understanding of the LS-2 is wrong but...

I'm not sure how to connect this thing and what loop pattern to use. I wanna be able to select between a completely dry signal and a blended signal.

Use LS2 setting "A+B Mix." Connect LS2 send "A" to your effect's input and your effect's output to LS2 return "A." Leave loop B empty. Connect bass to LS2 input, and connect LS2 output to amp.

When LS2 is on you can mix level A (your effect) with level B (your clean signal). When the LS2 is off, your clean signal will go straight to amp.

That's how I run my BR-2.

I really like the Blended Loop. I'm getting another LS-2.

not sure how you define cheap, but the Xotic X-Blender is a great wet/dry pedal with other features as well.

This. I have one and love it. It's my "nerve center"- real time adjustments of wet/dry via big knob that can be turned by foot, true bypass, or full "on" for fully affected signal. My favorite pedal by far, but more expensive than the LS-2.

It's my pedalboard nerve center too. I actually would not use effects at all until I got the X-Blender.
