Good Compression Pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey i'm fairly new to using pedals never seen the need for them really but lately i've been looking for something else when i play and i was wondering what a good compression pedal you guys recommend i've been looking at the Boss one.
Also do you guys think a chorus would help alot playing in a worship band we play some hard christian rock stuff to skillet, flyleaf, disciple, exct.
Thanks
Hope im not being to vague

Og, check over in the "Effects" forum, that's where we talk about pedals mostly. Check the links in my sig for more info about compressors, but also be sure to check out the other comp threads in the Effects forum- lots of good opinions to be found there. Same goes for chorus, lots to read. In fact there have even been a dozen or so threads on effects used in praise&worship bands, including one thread active right now, so check those out. If you don't see the threads I'm talking about right away, scroll through a few pages worth, or -as Trev says- use the search. Try the "Google TB" search, it may turn up more/better results for you than the regular search.

I think the boss one is good for the price. I use the boss myself. I use it more like a limiter instead of compress.

Keeley makes a nice one... My two favs are the EBS Multi Comp or TC compressor. Both are studio silent with no hiss and it's hard to get them to "pump". Idiot proof ( perfect for me)!

Not yet. A number of us have used other modern clones of the OS design, but I don't know of anyone here having bought the current reissue using his name.
