Good deal on BDI21

Sign in to disble this ad
Found the BDI21(new) onsale at West LA music store for $15.99 and free shipping. I have never bought from these guys before...and, so far so good. Chris(universal city store) was very helpful and pleasent to deal with and was interested in hearing what style I was shooting for. He seemed to care that I found something that was right for me(instead of just making "any" sale). The unit will ship out soon.

I have been looking for an inexpensive toy to experiment with. Since, I am a beginer and don't have alot of extra cash....I went with the BDI21. As money allows and I become a better player...I will look towards Aguilar, but untill then I hope to have some fun with this one.

I will let you know how it works out when it arrives. I also ordered the BSY600 and hope to have some fun experimenting with that one, as well. For some reason the BSY600 will ship out next week.

My rig thus far: Aguilar GS112, Whirlwind Spk Cable, Behringer BXR1800H (head), Arion Tuner, Whirlwind Bass Cable, SX(2) and Yamaha basses. I GOT THE FEVER!

Is the BDI21 a copy of the Sans Amp? Is that what the 21 stands for?

Wow, that is a heckuva deal. I have had a lot of bad experience with Behringer, especially with pedals, but I've owned 2 of those BDI21s without issue and at $15 it's a no-brainer.

I'm in for one too, although I feel kinda dirty. It's just a matter of what I can afford and need at the moment. And since I NEED a DI but don't have much cash.....well this'll do.

I see the price has gone back up on the West LA Music site. It's at $22 now.

Think of it this way, there is the handmade Ferrari and the production line Alfa Romeo, some people can have the Ferrari some don't

Also, if Tech21 themselves made a "Oriental Bass Driver DI" made in china, not handmade, etc it would be more money for them and an opportunity stolen from cloners. They are the dumb ones lol

As for the BDI21, awesome box

Relax, it's not a clone.

Still waiting on my BDI21. Looks like the hold-up is because of the BSY600. Behringer must be making me one from scratch?

Couldn't resist a few other items....a set of (8) 17inch patch cables, and a 3Leaf Groove Regulator. I wanted to get one before they were all gone.(like a bonehead...I forgot to check the classifieds first) Oh well, nothing wrong with a new one.

I dug some of my old guitar effects out of the closet and was trying them in the effects loop of the GR. My TS10 Classic sounds really good in the loop. The GR seems to sounds better when hooked up through the effects look of my amp head. Still getting to know it though...and when my other effects show up...it might change.

Thanks to all for your input on this site. Both good and bad feedback can go a long way to helping a newbie.

FWIW, I got mine about a week ago and I'm shocked at how great this thing sounds. As others have said elsewhere, the Drive knob can make your signal kinda nasty (and NOT in the good way) but used judiciously, you can get some nice grit. Everything else does exactly what I want it to do; that is, boost/cut highs/lows without changing the....je ne sais quoi of my Ric. I've used it as a pedal, and I've used it as a DI into a PreSonus firewire interface.

Yes, it's made of plastic but it doesn't feel flimsy or anything.

It probably isn't the best DI out there, but for the money it gets the job done. I actually like it so much, I've been neglecting my fuzz boxes.
