Any recommendations? I like whatever Krist used in Lounge Act.

Krist didn't use a pedal on "Lounge Act," just a Gibson Ripper into an Ampeg SVT 400T and a Mesa Boogie 2x15. Then A LOT of EQ. He did use a Pro Co Rat on "Breed" and "Endless, Nameless" and the solo to "Been a Son."

If you like the band TAD, Kurt Danielson used a first edition Marshall Guv'nor. That'll get you grunge.

Fuzzrocious makes a Pro Co Rat clone, the Rat Tail, that has a few modifications to make it suited for bass.

Vintage or vintage reissue RAT or clone is all you need.
If you want to add a little weirdness, pick up a chorus too.

I had a 400T in the late 90s. That thing sucked! It was so quiet. I can't believe Krist got a good tone out of it.

Andy Wallace is well known for a reason! After he mastered the record the bass sounds unreal. My roommate makes me look like a casual Nirvana fan and has a the raw tracks and the bass sounds so plain and dry.

I too had a 400T for about 3 months and it did suck. If you want the full power, you need a weird mono bridging cable. Better off staying away from the thing all together. Tone is in the fingers I guess!
