Way to vague of a question to give worthwhile suggestions. Mainly need to know what you 'want' effects wise or expects these effects to do for you.

If you don't know what you need or want to accomplish, then you don't really need effects.

sorry

right...

Efects wise your basic sounds:
Chorus
Phaser
Distortion
Fuzz
Synth
with some nice tones for slap bass ect

also some pre-amp setting...

style I love to play is really deep dub/reggae bass so anything that can achive that.

maybe an EQ

Go try out some bass specific multi-fx pedals. There's Boss, Digitech, and Zoom off the top of my head, and each brand has several models. Seek them out, and try before you buy.

Line 6

The Line 6 Bass PodXT Live is a fun one. I used one for a long time until I realized it was a little over kill for what I wanted. It does give you a lot of choices for effects though. You could also try the new stomp box modeler they put out that's just stomp boxes, no amp emulators.
