Hey everyone,
I'm looking for an envelope filter. Not really one to be used in a show environment or recording but probably just used for messing around with at home..so it doesn't have to be the biggest best one out there. It might be used for a little recording but nothing big considering my band doesn't play that funky type of music, but i love the sound of those things.
Im looking to spend no more then id say...$80-$100
Thanks in advance |

Deit: Cheap ain't the only good thing about this pedal- they're really not bad. I definitely prefer it to Bassballs & the Ibanez SB-7. Haven't played any others.

Digitech Bass Synth Wah
Boss AW-3
Ibanez AW-7
All of them should be good enough for messing around. The Q-Trons will probably sound the best but the Boss and Digitech will give you a lot more sounds. The Ibanez was highly acclaimed by Bass Player mag, but I haven't tried one myself. Good luck.

Well well worth it though |

I've used a fair few others, but I find these two are the best of 'em in this price range. The Bass BAlls has the distortion switch- a nice touch & is a DAMN good pedal for the $$$. The Digitech BSW is nice & VERY versatile & the Sub(octave below) function is handy! If I had 2 choose between the 2 I'd take the Digitech- simply coz it's so many options. But the Bassballs is a good 'un. I often use it due to it's ease of use & the distortion switch....it's like a Precision bass- works & simple to use & sounds good!!!

I don't know exactly whether Mini and Micro sounds are different.
but I read that Micro's LP mode is not good as Mini's
(on bass player website http://www.bassplayer.com/story.aspx?content_id=24418
Actually, Mini's really awesome for bass but I've not heard Micro's sound yet.
so i vote Mini's.
(but i bought a used Micro Q-tron on ebay.

who knows of an envelope filter that is completely out of control and insane? giant, deep wah sounds that seem impossibly huge and crazy sounding. especially with a little grit after it, and possibly with an octave pedal before it.
basically, yes, i want a guyatone BR2 but i can't find one ANYWHERE. haha. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
