Good ToneCore Pedals?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have Line 6 ToneCore mono dock with Tap Tremolo module inside, that I don't really use, I'm thinking to buy some other mono module to replace tremolo, are there any good options from Line6? Maybe Otto Filter? I know Echo Park and Verbzilla are good, but I already have them

Uber Metal if you like HEAVY distortion.

Just got it. Love it.

I like my Dr. Distorto. The feedback-circuit on it is loads of fun, and useful to me.

I have the tap-trem, the roto-machine and the flanger. All are pretty nice.

The Roto-machine is a great Leslie sim, but I've never used it on bass. Leslie's tend to sound better (to me) on things with a wide bandwidth. So a distorted signal would make it more pronounced than a straight signal. Same caveat for the flanger. Flanger also has triggered settings (I think)

I asked a while back if anyone had tried out the Otto Filter and got zero responses...So no idea how it sounds...I would also be interested in the Tone Core Flanger module.

I've read good things about the Echo Park... I want to test run one against a Boss DD-3 or DD-6.

I like Echo Park much more then DD-6. First of all sound-wise and also Echo Park has more settings and tap tempo is much better, you don't need to hold switch for 2 seconds.

I'm very unimpressed with the tonecore pedals. But that's because the one I bought won't engage, it only changes the tap tempo of the tremelo. I won't be buying another one, but that's just me.

You really have to lean on the foot pedal to actualy engage or disengage the pedal. It isn't like the boss pedals. You get a satisfying ca-chunk when you get it.

I've also been generally unimpressed with the Toncores. I actually got the Otto Filter to work, but it sounded awful. The Echo Park isn't bad, but it ain't a DD-6. I enjoyed the Verbzilla quite a bit. Disliked the Flanger and Dr. Distorto and haven't tried the rest.

If you're going to get a new module to replace a modulation, I'd go with another modulation. The flanger sounds way too metallic for my tastes, but give it a shot. Again, the Otto Filter was awful when I tried it. Maybe get another Echo Park or Verbzilla.

Trust me, I have tried everything short of hitting it with a sledge hammer, and still the thing won't engage most of the time.
