Has anyone used one of these on TB. I was considering a new compressor pedal for my rig need a little feedback on this pedal. Here is a link with a demo of it, and at $126 seems like a good deal. Gorila, bass compressor pedal, Dedalo Handmade Effects |

| | | | I would consider buying one to try it out but the placement of the input/output jacks doesn't seem very pedaltrain friendly and I hate when the power jack is on the side.
The dimensions listed in the manual seem "off".
Dimensiones: 12,5cm x 8,5cm x 7cm
Or is it really 7cm deep? Doesn't appear so in the video. |

| | | | I wouldn't have any problems ordering from them. Their website has English translations and they have 1300 friends on Facebook, so they're legit. |

| | | | Pedal has been ordered. Hopefully I'll get it late next week, but it's being shipped internationally so I'm not sure how long to expect. |

| | | | The Gorila is at the post office. I missed them on Saturday and the package required a signature. So, I'll pick it up tomorrow. Can't wait to pick it up! |

Can't wait to hear a non-wank report.

| | | | The video is a good representation of the sound, but while it's not too big, it's a little wider than will fit on my PedalTrain Mini unless I swap it for two pedals. So it's probably going to go up for sale in the next few days. |

If it's going up for sale soon, PM me and maybe we can work something out. |

Not saying "quirks" in a bad sense but every pedal has sweet spots and you need to find them. At higher compression levels I was losing attack and it was sounding spongy rather than squishy. So, I turned up the Level knob and the goodness returned. The EQ is tastefully voiced. All the way to the bass side gives deepness but you don't lose articulation. All the way to the treble side gives brightness and doesn't lose all the bottom.
The Attack / Compress / Level seem to have a bit of interaction between them. To get the optimum sound you kinda need to tweak all three unless you're only making a slight change. But the end result is worth it. You get a thickness and refinement to the sound that is very pleasing to the ear. I'm thinking that the Gorila into something like the Reddi would sound incredible. Of course the Reddi sounds good all by itself so I guess that's not fair.
This is not my final review. I think I need to get some more play time with it to make a conclusive statement. At first I was leaning towards disappointment. Now I'm leaning towards really liking it. Need to get some more time with it but I think I'll figure out a way to get it on my pedalboard. |
