Got a Micro Pog - not liking it so far

Sign in to disble this ad
The only sounds I can get out of it are weird glitchy notes (sounds like a ring modulator). Even with the dry signal completely off, the sounds coming out are just too glitchy. I like crazy noising pedals, but this is not why I got the Micro Pog.

Can't believe how much money I spent on this pedal.

Send it back for a replacement, it's obviously not meant to be working like that...

If you're not getting peanut-butter milkshake thick sounds it's not working right.

+3. No glitchiness from a properly working µPog.

Mine works fine. Really cool tones. Sounds like you got a blem.

Especially the Resonant lowpass filter. I wish I could buy only that filter; it'd probably fit in a phase90 sized box.

Anyway - I couldn't see the µPOG working for me - I NEVER run the filter on position#1, all the way up (which would be the equivalent of the µ, I presume). Unless they pre-filter the high octave at some freq that's more reasonable. Else there's some pretty jangling, squeeky, munchkin stuff going on way up there in the high freqs.

Also - I've seen it said here that the µPOG 'has good organ sounds'. I've tried simulating the µ with my POG (working only with 'up one and down one' - non-detuned, and the filter set as described above). I'd say 'I guess'; 'maybe barely' - but the one- AND two- up, WITH the detune, AND the resonant filter...

Now THAT's Organ Tone!

I have a rehearsal tonight, so I will try it better then.

I can't believe I have to pay for shipping to/from EHX. They screw up and *I* have to pay? Can I just deliver it to them? Seriously.

And can we PLEASE stop calling it the µPOG? That is not the name and it just looks stupid that way (and I love physics).

urm, how long have u had the MicroPOG? I'd return it to the guys who sold it to you rather than EHX, they're the ones who sold you faulty goods. Failing that, EHX should sort you out. But i've always sent faulty stuff back to the seller, the only exception being a B:assmaster that was a little funny, and thats coz Josh from Malekko offered to send me an upgraded replacement free of charge, i wouldnt expect as much from EHX.

+2. It should sound βΘИΞКЯŲŜĦÏИĞ®, not glitchy. Try setting the dry to max, octave up to min, and the sub to 1 or 2 o'clock.

+7. -1 on the big POG suggestion as it is more $$$ and bigger. If you got the space go for it, if not, don't.

-1. No. If we stop calling it the µPOG the world will implode from all the pent up βΘИΞКЯŲŜĦÏИĞ®ness.

I've had the pedal since Thursday, but only was able to play with it for a few minutes on Saturday. Going to be jamming in half hour, so I will record a few samples.

I live only a few miles from EHX, so the turnaround would be much faster if I went through them instead of the seller, which is based in IL.

all you can expect from EHX is broken pedals, and high pricetags.

sigh.

That's why my SMMH and my XO Qtron+ are currently my two favorite pedals, and I have had them for months now.
